Recomendations for those travelers that don´t need visa

* It´s clear that you don´t need visa to enter Mexico, however you will have to present you "tourist card", a document that will be handed to you - having presented your passport first - at the mexican embassies, at the air company offices, at the airport and in the travel agencies.

* That card is valid if you visit the country only for medical issues or tourism. It´s also valid if you visit the country to participate in non-paid athletic, scientific or artistic activities.

* If you are in Mexico for business, you will need a special Visa, no matter your nationality.
* American citizens that wish to visit the border for no more than 72 hours do not require any tourist card.
* The card is valid for 30 up to 180 days and can be renewed at the corresponding offices. The time is decided by the officer at Customs responsible for stamping. Passengers from Belize and Guatemala can only stay in mexico for a period of time no longer than 15 days.
* The passenger must keep it´s tourist card during the whole trip. Because when leaving from mexico he will have to present it for a final stamping.
* Underage passengers traveling to mexico by themselves or with their family need, besides their passport, a special permit from their fathers. If the passenger is in company of the father he would have to present a written authourization from it´s mother certifing the exclusive custody of the underage visitor to the other parent..

Si está acompañado por uno de sus padres, este deberá presentar un permiso notarial del otro progenitor o, en caso contrario, un documento que certifique su custodia exclusiva. Las autoridades mexicanas son muy cuidadosas en estos casos.
* If you enter Mexico without the propper documentation you could be fined o sent back to your country of origin

Recomendations for your Visa

If you need visa to enter mexican territory, you can get it at the closest embassy. But matter what your nationality is, its very important to remember to: present a passport with at least 6 months of life, a plane ticketround-trip and someway explain how do you intend to play for your stay.
